Electric Yachts was founded in 2008 by Scott McMillan with Mike Gunning joining 2 years later. Much like electric cars, people were skeptical at first and didn’t fully see the vision. But as electric cars kept becoming more and more common, people increasingly saw the alure of electric systems and what they could do. Mike has very openly admitted that electric is not a solution for everyone, and diesel/gas boats still have a place. But for most people, an electric system costs far, far less to maintain. And nowadays the price of these electric systems are becoming much more price competitive with their Diesel/Gas counterparts. Electric Yachts has, and will continue to help propel the marine electrical world forward for many years to come. We are honored to be there for them, helping with system installs and consultations alike.
